It appears that Gordon Browns stamp duty tax break has done little to revive the state of the housing market. Maybe this is due to the fact that in order to benefit from a tax break you need to have homebuyers!!! Rolling Eyes

The Government has released a number of initiatives in recent month and years, none really addressing the core issue of the affordability. With prices still at supremely high levels and mortgage companies struggling to find funds, surely the best answer would be to give tax breaks directly to first time buyers through their income. None of the schemes out there really address the core issue of empowering the buyer to afford these properties. Our research shows that property buyers in London and the South East are at the greatest disadvantage largely due to the huge difference between income levels and average property prices. What do you think?
