Poor credit rating? Mainstream lender is still possible Empty Poor credit rating? Mainstream lender is still possible

It's worth noting that if you only have a few minor blips on your credit file you may well still be able to obtain a mortgage with a mainstream mortgage lender.

A good mortgage broker will be able to assess your situation and advise on whether it is likely that you will be able to get a mortgage with a high street lender and whether or not it is worth applying.

A mortgage with a mainstream mortgage lender could save you a lot of money via both fees and the interest rate compared with that from a mortgage lender who specialises in mortgages for individuals with a poor credit rating. So don't just assume the worst, get advice before making a decision.
